Upsets, nail-biters, controversy, Round 15 had it all but we aren’t here to talk about any of that. We are here to recognise the great performers of the round and with that in mind we present to you, in no particular order, our top five moments of the round.
Oscar Allen’s ‘Riewoldt’ Moment.
It was a moment of bravery and selflessness that will live long in the memory. With no regard to his safety Oscar Allen ran into a nest of Hawks and Eagles to take a pivotal mark setting up Jack Darling’s fourth goal of the game. Given it’s likeness to one taken by Nick Riewoldt 15 years earlier, it was fitting the former Saint was in the commentary box for this epic grab.
Roarke’s Drift.
The reaction of his team mates to the first goal of his career, was a tribute to the perseverance required by Roarke Smith in his career to date. Five years, two knee reconstructions after being taken by the Bulldogs in 2014, Smith took advantage of a rare chance up forward in wet conditions to snaffle a six pointer. It was a classy highlight on a night he ensured his next match at league level should be just one week away.
Sydney Stack
The young Tiger has been a one man highlight reel in 2019, and against the Saints was no different. Stack kicked four goals in his side’s 33-point victory but the highlight of the day came in the lead up to his first when he made his claims on a mark of the week nomination over Saint Hunter Clark.

Return of Nic Nat
It won’t go down as one of his best games, but given the weather it was never going to be, but how good was it having Nic Nat back on the park. Having completed his rehab from a second knee reconstruction, one of the most exciting players in the competition was back and wasn’t it good to see.
Murphy’s Goal.
Given the Blues injury woes and their embarrassing opening to their match with Fremantle, even Marc Murphy would have thought it unlikely that his afternoon would end with a match winning goal. Despite being away from home and facing a big deficit the Blues refused to yield and their efforts were crowned with their former skipper kicking the go ahead goal in a defining win for the football club.
