It is that time again, footy finals – the most wonderful time of the year.
With four big finals ahead of this weekend the Pinch Hitter team nominate:
- Who will win?
- The weekend’s sure thing
- Most at stake
- Doomsday scenario
WHO WILL WIN?
Sure Thing
Ben: If the Pies lose there will plenty of noise about the short turnaround.
Bozza: Thursday night will be one to remember.
Jai: It will be a cracker of a finals series.
Jarrod: Melbourne will get their Revenge after two close losses to the Cats this season.
Joel: Four close first round games.
Josh: Clarko will show us why he is the best in the business.
Sudi: Tight weekend of finals without blowouts.
Warrick: Toby Greene will find trouble.
Most at stake
Ben: GWS. They were supposed to win a flag by now, they cant be eliminated this early.
Bozza: Collingwood. A loss leaves them with a long trip home and a short week to prepare in.
Jai: Richmond supporters who have already booked Grand Final tickets and accommodation.
Jarrod: GWS. We thought they’d have success by now they can’t go out htis early.
Joel: Geelong. Can’t afford to bow out this early after all the ‘Dangerwoodlett’ talk.
Josh: Geelong. Went all in with Danger and Ablett in recent seasons a 7/8th finish isn’t good enough.
Sudi: Geelong. A Week 1 Finals exit not good enough after putting together the ‘Holy Trinity”.
Warrick: Melbourne. After 12 years out of the finals they don’t want a first round exit.
Doomsday Scenario
Ben: Melbourne lose to Geelong with a kick after the siren.
Bozza: Both Collingwood and Richmond win.
Jai: Hawks win it all and we stop watching football.
Jarrod: Collingwood get smacked and suffer more injuries.
Joel: West Coast set themselves up to flop on Grand Final day after two big home final wins.
Josh: The Eagles win and continue on their safe as houses path via Optus to the GF.
Sudi: Eagles losing to a depleted Collingwood side.
Warrick: Collingwood win this weekend and win it all.
