Collingwood 2018 – Five Fearless Predictions

Jai is back with Five Fearless Predictions for Collingwood in 2019!

2018 in a Nutshell

The year that nearly was… disappointed to get so close only to miss out but excited to have made it as far with as many setbacks. At the beginning of last year if you told me the Pies would play in the big dance, I would not have believed you.

Five Fearless Predictions.

Fewer injuries

Last year was exceptionally bad for broken blokes and it’ll take a lot to match or exceed the list of injured Pies of 2018.

Brody Grundy is going from strength to strength

and will only get better. He’ll be the one to watch. Top 3 in the Brownlow!

The Pies wont lose more than 5 games

in the regular season setting up another finals charge.

Three or more Pies will kick 50 plus goals.

Yep. I said it. You wanted fearless…

A harder draw makes for harder Pies.

The Fixture. This year’s fixture is a harder one but it will sort the wheat from the chaff early. By round 10 you’ll know if your team is on the right path. The Pies have Geelong, Richmond and West Coast first three rounds and will need to knock off a couple of them to get points on the board to set up the season.

Rounds Eight and Nine are nice reprieves to rest a little in the middle of the year with a bit of percentage. Then, at the tail end of the year there are a few easier games to ease through to finals with a couple of big wins. Stringing together wins against the tougher teams is crucial to having a crack at a cup.

Where will they finish?

Conservatively, I’d say top 8. If I close one eye, I reckon top 4 is a real chance now that the Pies have belief and another year into some young blokes. A bit bigger and stronger and hopefully smarter is always helpful. Go Pies.
