Two games clear on top of the ladder despite a couple of stumbles in recent weeks, the Cats remain on top of our Power Rankings but will be challenged if they can’t consistently win on the run home.

2. (6) BRISBANE

Perhaps have claims to the title of form team in the competition having forced their way into the top four on the back of a four game winning streak.

3. (2) WEST COAST

A heartbreaking loss to the Pies after a pretty impressive month of footy. Have an opportunity to consolidate their position in the top four over the next few weeks.

4. (3) COLLINGWOOD

An impressive result in the west for Collingwood after back to back defeats to teams beneath them on the ladder. An interesting fortnight lies ahead of them as they look to lock down home ground advantage in the finals.

5. (10) ESSENDON

Back in the hunt for a finals berth after three straight victories, a difficult road trip lies ahead but victory could see them well on track for a return to September.

NEXT FIVE: Ade (A), GC (A), PA (H), WB (H), Fre (A).


6. (13) WESTERN BULLDOGS

Four wins out of five for the and a couple of winnable games ahead means the Bulldogs have a sniff of September. They are close enough if they are good enough.

7. (9) RICHMOND

Have quietly won their last three and, with six games in a row at the MCG to finish the season, the Tigers are stalking a top four berth.

8. (5) ADELAIDE

Bounced back after a disappointing fortnight with a win over Gold Coast. Their clash against the Bombers this weekend might be the game of the round.

9. (8) NORTH MELBOURNE

A heartbreaker against the Bombers, but under Rhys Shaw the Kangaroos are dreaming of a finals berth.

10. (14) CARLTON

Are the training wheels off yet? The Blues are playing exciting footy and have a big chance to record back to back wins for the first time in two years.

11. (7) SYDNEY

After an impressive stretch the Swans are in danger of going into the next Battle of the Bridge on the back of a four game losing streak.

12. (4) GWS

Looked well positioned for an assault at the flag when they took their bye but have looked anything but since.

13. (11) PORT ADELAIDE

Will the real Port Adelaide please stand up.

14. (17) HAWTHORN

After a pair of solid wins the Hawks will be looking forward to reacquainting themselves with arch rivals Geelong. They will need to be at their best though, with their match against the Cas the first in a difficult month ahead.

15. (16) MELBOURNE

The end of the season can’t come soon enough for the Demons.

16. (12) FREMANTLE

The Dockers’ season looks to be in free fall after four straight losses.
