2. (3) WEST COAST

After accounting for the in-form Blues, the Eagles find themselves in a three way tie for the competition lead. With the home and away season in its final stretch they are well positioned to defend their crown.

RUN HOME: Ade (H), Rich (A), Haw (H).


3. (4) RICHMOND

The Tigers are really starting to purr with the finals fast approaching. Is this 2017 all over again for the men from Punt Road?

4. (9) GWS

Just how valuable will their back to back one kick victories be at seasons end? With three games to come against teams outside the eight, it might well prove the difference between a double chance or four weeks of elimination football come September.

5. (3) GEELONG

There has been much talk about where they should play their home finals, but with a tricky three weeks ahead, they aren’t assured of hosting rights come September.

6. (5) ESSENDON

The Bombers were brought back to earth by the Power after their five game winning streak. With three difficult games to round out the season, they will need to be at their best if they are to be certain of a return to September.

RUN HOME: WB (H), Fre (A), Coll (A).


7. (11) NORTH MELBOURNE

Unlikely to play finals but have the chance to play spoiler in the next two weeks against sides with top two and top eight aspirations.

RUN HOME: Gee (A), PA (H), Melb (H).


8. (12) COLLINGWOOD

Remain in the hunt for a top four berth after doing what they needed to against the Suns at the MCG.

RUN HOME: Melb (A), Ade (A), Ess (H).


9. (13) FREMANTLE

After upsetting the Cats at home they will like their chances in their last three games. Remain an outside chance to play finals.

10. (14) ADELAIDE

Their victory over the Saints means their finals destiny is in their hands but they remain under siege.

LAST FIVE: PA (L), GC (W), Ess (L), Carl (L), StK (W).

RUN HOME: WCE (A), Coll (H), WB (A).


11. (15) PORT ADELAIDE

With three games to come against sides outside the eight, the victory over Essendon means the Power are right up to their necks in the finals race.

LAST FIVE: Ade (W), BL (L), Rich (L), GWS (L), Ess (W).

RUN HOME: Syd (H), NM (A), Fre (H).


12. (6) CARLTON

Carlton were gallant against the Eagles but lacked the necessary class to claim the points against the premiers. With Richmond up next, they have another chance to test themselves against one of the competition’s best.

LAST FIVE: Melb (L), Syd (W), GC (W), Ade (W), WCE (L).

RUN HOME: Rich (A), StK (H), Gee (A).


13. (7) WESTERN BULLDOGS

They became another Gabbatoir victim, but not before giving the high flying Lions a fright. At their best they are a chance in each of their remaining fixtures.

RUN HOME: Ess (A), GWS (A), Ade (H).


14. (8) HAWTHORN

They have punched above their weight at times this season but finals look beyond them now..

15. (10) ST KILDA

Beaten but not disgraced against the Crows, the Saints will now look to finish their season on a high with three games against teams outside the top eight.

RUN HOME: Fre (H), Carl (A), Syd (A).


16. (16) SYDNEY

It might have been a contentious loss to the Giants, but with five defeats in a row a bottom four finish is extremely likely for the Swans.

RUN HOME: PA (A), Melb (A), StK (H).


17. (17) MELBOURNE

They Dees infamously taunted an opponent a few years ago by asking what their September plans would be. They themselves ended up missing the finals that year and will again in 2019, the 11th time in 12 years their September has been free of footballing engagements.

RUN HOME: Coll (H), Syd (H), NM (A).


18. (18) GOLD COAST

The Suns losing streak now stands at 15 and is likely to stand at 18 before the season finishes.
