5. Bailey Smith
A controversial top – 5 selection, but Smith’s debut year was a big indicator of how important he will be for the Bulldogs. Ranked 1st among rising stars for total clearances, and 2nd for total disposals – Smith will look to build on his stellar debut in 2020. His best performance came in round 15 against the Power, finishing with 23 touches and a whopping 14 tackles.
4. Aaron Naughton:
The 19-year old was ultra impressive. He finshed 2nd in total contested marks (53) and 9th in total marks inside 50. His talent and size looms ominous for the opposition in the future, his display against the eventual premiers in Richmond in round 7 was one of absolute dominance – finishing with 5 goals and 14 marks
3. Josh Dunkley
Slow start to the season aside, Dunkley was impressive. 6th in total tackles and 8th in score involvments in the league, he was most impressive in round 13’s 3 point win over Carlton, finishing with
41 disposals (19 kicks 22 hballs), 5 marks, 10 tackles and a goal.
The league’s highest possession-getter per game, averaging 33.4. He also managed to finish 6th in the league for total goal assists and 18th for total tackles. Macrae battles his guts out against Brisbane in round 20 with 45 disposals (21 kicks 24 hballs), 4 marks and 7 tackles.
Had arguably his best season, leading from the front with career high averages in disposals (27), clearances (6), rebound 50s (2) and inside 50s (5.4) . The men in green obviously agree about the Bont’s dominance, polling 22 votes.
