1. (3) PORT ADELAIDE
Robbie Gray saved their bacon but after a seven week nomadic experience they sit 6-1. Can’t do much more to silence the doubters.

2. (4) BRISBANE
Got the job done against GWS and will return to Queensland pretty confident that they are set for another genuine tilt at a top two finish.

3. (10) COLLINGWOOD
One of two teams that taught us a lesson last weekend, we won’t make the mistake of underestimating the Magpies again.

4. (1) GEELONG
We have no idea whether Geelong are good or not.

4. (5) CARLTON
While they would like to take back the last 50 seconds of their clash against the Power, they took it right up to the competition leaders.

Next Five | NM (A) | ? | ? | ? | ? |
5. (7) WEST COAST
Still question marks over this team with their three game winning streak coming at the expense of teams sitting 15, 17 & 18 on the AFL ladder. We will learn a lot more when they host the Pies this weekend.

6. (8) WESTERN BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs are a great example of the even nature of the 2020 season to date. In the space of one week they went from second rate to unstoppable. Their clash against the Gold Coast looms as must see tv.

8. (9) RICHMOND
‘Champion teams win when playing poorly and Richmond are definitely playing poorly’ is what we said last week and there was little in their win over North to make us change our minds. The way they overcame injuries in 2019 is still fresh in our memories too, will be interesting to see how they go against a fired up GWS.

9. (8) ST KILDA
There are many reasons for the Saints to be happy after their drought breaking victory over the Crows. That said, they struggled to put away a team that is yet to record a victory this year. They will need to be much better if they are to challenge the Power this weekend.

10. (2) ESSENDON
After finally giving in and rating the Bombers, that is the performance they dish up. We won’t make that mistake again.

Have the Demons finally turned it around? We will have a much better idea after they face the Lions this weekend.

12. (13) GOLD COAST
Were good against the Swans but will need more if they are to overcome the Doggies this weekend in their first ever Thursday night assignment.

13. (11) GWS
Things are starting to look decidedly grim on the west side of Sydney. If a Grand Final rematch against an undermanned Richmond can’t shake them from their slumber this weekend, nothing can?

Next Five | RICH (H) | ? | ? | ? | ? |
14. (12) HAWTHORN
Despite the AFL bringing in Clarko’s solution to all the games woes in recent weeks, the Hawks have scored just 49, 27 and 48. Perhaps their style of footy is a bigger cause of terrible footy than holding the ball ever was.
Last Five | RICH (W) | NM (W) | GWS (L) | COLL (L) | MELB (L) |

15. (14) FREMANTLE
Not enough weapons against the Eagles but will give themselves an outsiders chance against the Cats next week.

Next Five | GEE (H) | ? | ? | ? | ? |
16. (17) SYDNEY
Took the game on against the Suns and were a real chance of pinching it. Given the form the Hawks are in, despite the AFL invoking Clarko’s proposed solution to all the games woes, the Swans are a genuine chance next week.
Last Five | NM (W) | WB (L) | WCE (L) | RICH (L) | GC (L) |
Next Five | HAW (H) | ? | ? | ? | ? |
17. (16) NORTH MELBOURNE
Can somebody point North Melbourne in the direction of the goal posts because two goals are nowhere enough for them to be competitive.
Last Five | SYD (L) | HAW (L) | WB (L) | ESS (L) | RICH (L) |
Next Five | CARL (H) | ? | ? | ? | ? |
18. (18) ADELAIDE
Were better against the Saints but, if after six goals from free kicks you can only kick eight, scoring is a genuine problem.
Last Five | GC (L) | BL (L) | FRE (L) | WCE (L) | STK (L) |
Next Five | ESS (H) | ? | ? | ? | ? |
